Brown marble base, plaque in bronced zink, the upper right corner reparied, signed K.Möbius 1929, engraved: Unserm lieben Schömig, Stiftungstag 1943. Kameradschaft Kameruner Offiziere. 153 x 110 mm.
The presentation gift was made by the well know Berlin artist sculptorer Karl Möbius - who also did the Dr. Carl Peters monument in Helgoland as well as the Reichs-Colonial-Badge - similar to the monument in Malabo. In Malabo, which is located on the island of Bioko, nowadays Guinea-Equatorial - where the members of the cameroon troops imprissoned for 3 years, after their 17 month retreat-fight. Oberarzt Dr. Schömig was also stationed as part of the Schutztruppe in 1914 in Cameroon.
